Russian stocks may decrease amid drop of US floors, oil prices
MOSCOW, Mar 6 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may decrease at the opening on Friday dragged by a drop of the U.S. stock floors and oil prices, analysts said.
“The downward correction on the RTS Index may deepen at the start of trading today amid a high volatility on markets in general,” Olma senior analyst Anton Startsev said.
Volatility on global stock floors remains excessive, which curbs recovery of demand on emerging markets, the analyst said. Moreover, uncertainty over prospects for the OPEC+ deal puts pressure on energy prices.
The U.S. stock indices fell by 3.1–3.6%, the U.S. stock index futures are trading significantly below the level of Thursday’s close, European stock indices closed in minus, and Asian stock floors are decreasing.
Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov said expects the Russian stock market to open with a decrease of around 2–2.5% amid a drop on the U.S. floors and falling oil prices.
